Laura Loughlin

I started my career at Scotiabank 13 years ago as a Customer Representative, and then was promoted to Customer Service Supervisor. In 2014, I became Assistant to the District Vice President before transitioning to Assistant Manager at the flagship branch in Hamilton. After three years I became a Branch Manager at a different branch in Hamilton.

Over my career, I’ve gained a deep understanding of sophisticated client needs. By building genuine relationships, I’ve learned how to add value for clients through tailored advice and service. I also get to know their family members, business partners and other relevant professionals (e.g., lawyer, accountant) in their circle, as this all-encompassing view allows me to find appropriate solutions to address their specific circumstances.

Clients rely on me to make banking simple and efficient. I focus on being readily available and highly responsive, seeking to exceed their expectations whenever possible. I am thoughtful, transparent and a strong advocate for my clients.

My educational background includes an Honours BA degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology, a post-graduate diploma in Human Resource Management and several industry-related courses.

I believe high net-worth clients have unique needs and opportunities that are not always identified and addressed to the fullest extent possible.

As a Private Banker, I take a holistic “whole picture” mindset in understanding the goals, objectives and wealth needs of our clients.  HNW clients may not be aware of the full breadth of financial services that can allow for tailor-made lending solutions and strategies that use leverage for additional investment and new growth opportunities over the long-term.  I consider myself a team player and fortunate to work with a very strong team with complementary strengths here in Oakville.

My 20+ years working locally and internationally with clients within wealth management and private banking at several large banks, mid-size financial firms and family office groups, coupled with working as an entrepreneur with companies in diverse industries such as new technologies, sports and entertainment, finance and the creative arts, give me a unique perspective when it comes to connecting and developing wealth strategies for my clients.  I constantly work toward building strong, trusting, transparent relationships with my clients.

I understand the inter-generational opportunities and concerns within affluent families and also seek to provide an opportunity for a strong family vision through the support of outside groups, charities and causes that share a family’s values and interests.

I grew up in Latin America and attended international schools in the region.  I speak Spanish fluently and have a working knowledge of French.

Jonothan Cuvalo

As a Private Banker, I have expertise in structuring debt and customizing credit to meet a client’s unique needs. I take pride in helping my clients manage their wealth by strategically accessing capital through the use of leverage.

Disrupting existing investments to finance new ventures can be detrimental to one’s overall wealth. I can improve your cash flow and structure existing assets as a multiplier for investment opportunities. I will strive to become your “in-house” wealth counsel, managing your banking complexities by providing clear advice and operational insight with a practical, no-nonsense delivery.

Fostering a genuine team approach to wealth management, I work to identify and manage risks within your financial plan, anticipate problems and devise solutions while aligning you with appropriate financial professionals to execute your overall wealth plan. I’m committed to providing my clients with attentive and tailored service that caters to their banking needs accurately and efficiently. This will ultimately save you time and effort as you move toward achieving your wealth objectives.

My financial services career began in 2015 with another institution where I gained necessary experience in various roles, including that of Senior Financial Advisor. I began as a Small Business Advisor with Scotiabank in May of 2019. I strongly believe in a client-first approach, which has proven successful in building long-lasting relationships. I take the time to truly understanding every client personally and financially, so that I can anticipate their needs at each stage of life. I take pride in being part of a high-performing team that works with a network of specialists committed to providing each client with the highest level of service.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford Ontario. This is among an array of other financial industry-related certifications, courses and programs.

Giving back to the community is something I hold near to me. I contribute by volunteering in various Scotiabank community events throughout the year, including JDRF, the SickKids Foundation and United Way.
